Spikes Fans Witness History, Support Club

February 6, 2017

While Tom Brady was leading the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history, fans of Spikes Baseball were checking their squares boards to see if they had any extra reason to celebrate. The Spikes Baseball Club, a non-profit organization that will field eight travel teams in 2017, raised $3,000+ to help its players and their families defray the expenses of the upcoming season. Last night, in addition to supporting their favorite Spikes family, Squares players took home $3,000 as well. (Some supporters will  donate all or part of their winnings back to the organization.)

The Spikes were founded in 2012 and played their first season as 14 year-old's in 2013. Currently, nine players who have worn the Spikes uniform and who will graduate in 2017 or later are committed or signed to play collegiate baseball; at least two more signings are expected soon.

The Spikes will offer one more of their proprietary, electronic squares boards this season - for March Madness. In fact, every game played in the NCAA Basketball Tournament this year will have at least three winners; the winning team, a Spikes fan and a Spikes player. To play, contact your favorite Spikes family or purchase a square directly by clicking here: Play Madness Squares.
